Weekend of March 8
Save the Date for March 29
We’re doing something special on Sunday, March 29! Since Oltman Middle School isn’t available, we’ll gather offsite at Cottage Grove Middle School for a potluck and baptisms — a day to connect, laugh, and celebrate as one church family. This is the perfect Sunday to invite friends, neighbors, and co-workers to experience the joy and community of Oaks Church. More details and food registration coming soon!
Interested in baptism?
Many people sense God inviting them to take a next step—but aren’t always sure what that looks like. Baptism is a powerful way to publicly declare new life in Christ, and we’re preparing for our next baptism service on March 29. If you’ve been wondering whether this step is for you or simply want to learn more, email Henry Michael at henrymw@oakscg.church.
Be part of what God is doing in Oaks Kids
One consistent adult can make an eternal difference in a child’s life. As our Kids ministry grows, so does an opportunity to multiply our elementary small groups— moving from two classrooms to three — so kids can be discipled more intentionally. We do that by training and equipping new small group leaders who are willing to jump in and help show Jesus’ love to our kids. The commitment is just once a month, and everything you need — training, curriculum, and support — is provided. You don’t have to be a Bible expert; you simply have to be willing to show up and build relationships. One consistent adult can make an eternal difference in a child’s life. Email Kayleigh Allred, kallred@oakscg.church, to learn more.
Enjoy your spring break!
As we usher in spring break season for all the area schools, we won’t have youth group on Wednesday, March 11. Enjoy some time with family! We look forward to seeing all of your students back on March 18 at our usual times: middle school 6-8 pm; high school 7-9 pm.
Help us welcome our visitors well this Easter
We will have two worship services on Easter Sunday, 9 am and 11 am. This is a great opportunity to jump in and try a new serve role, whether it’s in Oaks Kids or in Connections. Click a button below to find your place to serve!
Making generosity simpler
We’re moving our church giving to a new platform housed in the Church Center app, the same app many of you already use to stay connected through groups, events, and serving. This update makes it easier to access your giving history and set up or manage recurring gifts—all in one place. You received a card today with your worship guide that outlines the steps to move your giving to the new platform. If you currently have a recurring gift set up, you’ll just need to take a minute to transfer it from our old platform to the new one in Church Center. Get started by going to the giving page on our website. Questions or want help? Email Liza Halverson, lhalverson@fiveoakschurch.org.
What does it mean to live out the gospel?
The book of Ephesians is a survival manual of sorts. It equips believers to thrive in a world that is not warm to the message of Jesus. Guys, join us for a nine-week study of the book of Ephesians. We will see how the Apostle Paul wrote letters to believers of his day, challenging them to live out the gospel. We’ll see how his words carry great meaning today. Wednesdays, 6:15 pm at Oltman Middle School (next meeting March 18) or Saturdays, 7 am at Five Oaks, starting March 14. Questions? Email Matt Karasek at matthewade77@gmail.com.
