  • Room Lead / Small Group Leader — If you love seeing kids’ faces light up when they discover something new about God, this role is for you! You’ll guide the main lesson, help kids move smoothly through activities, and create a space where they feel safe, known, and excited to learn. You’ll also help with check-in and check-out, making sure every child feels welcome from the moment they arrive. (Must be 18+)

    Assistant Room Lead — If you love coming alongside others and helping kids have a great time, this role is perfect for you! You’ll assist the Room Lead with small group activities, keep kids engaged, and help create a calm, fun, and encouraging environment. (9th grade and up)

    Helper  If you enjoy jumping in wherever needed, playing with kids, and supporting their learning, this role is for you! Helpers work alongside the Room Lead and Assistant, keeping kids involved, having fun, and feeling valued. (6th grade and up)

    Large Group Leader — If you love leading games, telling Bible stories, and keeping energy high, this is the role for you! Large Group Leaders guide elementary kids through games and lessons, helping them have fun while learning about God. This role can be combined with Small Group Leadership for even more impact.

    Worship Leader  If you can’t help but sing, dance, or move when music starts, this role is for you! Worship Leaders lead kids into God’s presence through songs and motions, helping them connect with God through joyful, energetic worship in both preschool and elementary settings.

    Buddy  If you have a heart for kids who need extra support, this role is perfect! Buddies work one-on-one with children who have special needs or need extra care, helping them feel included, confident, and loved while they engage in activities.

    Sub  If you’re flexible, dependable, and ready to help wherever needed, this role is for you! Subs step in for volunteers who can’t make it, ensuring kids have a smooth, fun, and meaningful experience no matter what.

    Welcome Team  If you love making people feel at home from the moment they arrive, this role is perfect! Welcome Team members greet kids with a smile, connect with new families, lead families to appropriate classrooms, and help set the tone for a fun, welcoming, and safe environment.

    Team Lead  If you love supporting others and keeping things running smoothly, this role is for you! Team Leads assist the Kids Director by checking in on volunteers, helping wherever needed, and making sure everything flows well so kids and volunteers have the best experience possible. This role helps allow the Kids Director to attend service!

    Trainer  If you enjoy equipping others and sharing your knowledge, this role is perfect! Trainers help onboard new volunteers, giving them the tools and confidence to serve well and make a difference in kids’ lives.

    Prep Team  If you love helping behind the scenes, this role is for you! Prep Team members prepare crafts, decorate spaces, and support special events so that kids’ ministry can run smoothly and creatively.

    Special Events Childcare (Paid)  If you enjoy caring for kids and giving parents peace of mind, this role is perfect! You’ll provide childcare during church events outside of weekend services, helping kids have a safe, fun, and engaging experience.

  • Worship Tech — If you’d rather be behind a computer, this behind-the-scenes role allows you to combine your love of tech with love of worship. Help eliminate distractions and enhance the worship experience for our attenders. Tech options include sound, media, or video. Training provided.

    Worship Musicians — Are you musically gifted and have a heart for worship? There’s always room on our team for vocalists and instrumentalists who want to lead others. Audition required. 

    Communion Preparation — Have you ever helped a friend prepare for a party? This behind-the-scenes role involves setting up the communion stations in the worship center and cleaning up after services.

    Communion Server — Set out, refresh, clean up, and serve communion on served communion weekends.

    Service Manager — Do others tell you that you’re always the one who’s prepared, great at anticipating what’s coming next? Your organizational skills may serve you well in the role of serve manager, in which you’ll help the weekend team stay organized and on cue.

  • Greeter — If you’re the person who welcomes people in your driveway, stand at the door and wave to your guests when they’re on the way in, and you maybe even stretch out those goodbyes like a solid Minnesotan, you’d love to be a greeter. Help create a welcoming atmosphere that engages guests and welcomes them to Oaks Church.

    Usher — If you’re known for keeping your guests well-supplied when they arrive at your home, being an usher may be an easy next step for you. Greet people as they enter the worship center, help attendees find seats, and hand out worship guides. Also, help with head count and touch up the worship center at the end of the service.

    Concierge Team — Are you a natural host who likes to make people feel at home? Our Concierge team welcomes newcomers to Oaks Church, assists them with kids’ check-in, answers questions about our church, and helps show new folks the ropes.

    Safety & Security — Do you have experience in crisis management or as a first responder? Help create a safe environment for people at Oaks Church. If you have a background in law enforcement, military, first responder, or crisis management and are interested in using these skills to serve your church, we’d like to talk to you about joining our team.

    Oaks Coffee — Are you a barista in another life? Or maybe just wish you were? Help people get their favorite caffeinated beverage! It’s a great way to meet people and welcome new faces to church. 

    Prayer Card Team — Do you love how meaningful handwritten notes and cards can be in our current digital age? Join this team in sending prayer-filled cards to those in our church body who are in need of prayer. There is also an opportunity within this team to write welcoming notes to folks visiting Oaks Church for the first time.

  • Set Up Team – Love working behind the scenes to make everything run smoothly? Join the team that creates a welcoming, distraction-free environment for everyone who walks through our doors. From setting up signs to prepping sound equipment and kids’ spaces, you’ll help ensure people can focus on connecting with God and others—without stress or distractions.

    Takedown Team – Love leaving a place better than you found it? This team serves not just our church but also the teachers and school staff by packing up chairs, equipment, and signs—and making sure the space is clean and ready for a new week. By caring for the school well, we live out our mission and show God’s love in a tangible way.

  • Small Group Leader — If you have a heart for discipling others, developing leaders, and stocking up on your friends' favorite beverages, the role of a small group leader might be a great fit. Our small group leaders are passionate about small groups and are at the core of Oaks Church's disciple-making strategy.

  • Local Impact Have a heart for serving beyond Sunday mornings? This team focuses on blessing the school we meet in and the city we call home. From encouraging teachers and staff to organizing service projects in our community, you’ll help Oaks Church be a visible sign of God’s love right where we live.

  • Office and accounting support — Do you love a good spreadsheet? Love helping organize a project? We have seasonal office opportunities that may involve mailers and data entry, plus weekend opportunities for preparing our offering for deposit.

  • Photography — Do you love to take pictures at family gatherings? Help capture meaningful moments at church events for use on social media, event promotion, or celebrations.

    Social Media Team — If you engage with social media regularly, consider joining our social media team! We provide our volunteers with training, resources, and a well-organized content schedule.

    Decor Team — Do you love decorating for holidays and making a space feel warm and inviting? We have opportunities throughout the year for teams to make plans to update our spaces for Christmas, Easter, and more!

  • Women’s Ministry Team – Oaks partners with Five Oaks to create meaningful spaces for women to grow in faith and community. From special events to ongoing gatherings, there are plenty of ways to get involved! Serve by helping with coffee, greeting, set-up, take-down, and more—all while building relationships and blessing others.

    Men’s Ministry Team – Oaks partners with Five Oaks to encourage and equip men to follow Jesus together. Whether you enjoy hands-on projects, mentoring, event planning, or just showing up to serve, there’s a place for you. Opportunities range from one-time events to ongoing commitments, so you can find what fits your gifts and schedule.
