Weekend of August 2
Summer camps were unforgettable!
In June, 65 middle schoolers took Wood Lake Camp by storm for Five Oaks Camp Getaway. In July, 70 high schoolers did the same. Over 27 adult leaders and 12 student leaders invested a week of their time to keep the campers alive, thriving, growing in their faith, and running hard. Middle schoolers learned and grew from the teaching of our own Ariel Koning, who taught about how we see Jesus foretold in the Old Testament. High schoolers learned from Woodlake Camp speaker Caden Kroeker, who preached from John on the importance of knowing Jesus as the way, the truth, and the life. Here’s a fun fact about summer camp: One week of camp has more contact hours in it than a year of ministry student ministry does. We praise God for all the ways he showed up in the lives of students this summer!
Don’t miss Oaks Kids Family Camp on August 8
Elementary families, mark your calendars for family camp on August 8, 9 am-12 pm at Five Oaks Church. Join us for a fun-filled morning of worship, games, team competitions, crafts, and meaningful family conversations as we explore what it looks like to follow Jesus as a family. Childcare is available for preschool-aged children and younger. Details and registration here.

Are you interested in baptism?
One of the greatest joys in the life of our church is celebrating baptisms. On August 16, we’ll gather outdoors to hear stories of God’s grace and celebrate as believers publicly declare their faith in Jesus. If you’ve been thinking about baptism or have questions about what it is and why it matters, we’d love to connect with you. Middle and high schoolers: See you at the farm!
Summer is better with people who know you, encourage you, and point you to Jesus. We’ve missed you, and chances are your friends have missed you, too. Join us for one great summer night at the Vierling Farm! Look forward to games, worship with Ariel, a message from Philip Vierling, a bonfire, and plenty of time to connect. Guys, unplug for an evening of great food, lawn games, a bonfire, and real conversation on Wednesday, August 12, 6:30-9 pm at the Vierling farm. Bring a non-alcoholic drink and sign up for a potluck item to share. Sons are welcome! Details and registration here.
Set up a student for success
Every child deserves to begin the school year with the supplies they need to learn and thrive. This month, we’re partnering with SoWashCo CARES to provide school supplies and books for early learners in our community. Access the shopping list here. School supplies and new or gently-loved books may be dropped off in the red wagon near the info desk through Sunday, August 24. They may also be brought to the Baptism and Brunch on August 16.
