Weekend of October 19
Save the date for a special offsite Sunday
Something special is coming! On Sunday, November 23, we’ll gather as a church for a fun, community-building event you won’t want to miss. We’ll be meeting offsite that weekend (Oltman Middle School isn’t available), but we’ve got exciting plans in the works! Stay tuned for details—and get ready for a day to connect, laugh, and celebrate together as one church family.
Want to join Oaks Kids for some fall fun?
Join us for Pumpkins & Praise Night on Thursday, October 30 from 6-8 pm at Park Grove Library! We’ll read “The Pumpkin Patch Parable” and discover how carving a pumpkin tells the gospel story. Bring your own pumpkin to carve, and we’ll make Grateful Turkey crafts together as we celebrate the season and what we’re thankful for. Interested? Details and registration here.
Want a front row seat to your child’s faith journey?
Oaks Kids is off to a great start with our new curriculum, called Brite, in which kids are walking through the Bible chronologically and bringing the stories to life each week. Serving in your child’s classroom is a fun and meaningful way to connect with what they’re learning—so you can keep the conversations going at home. Even serving just once makes a difference! Interested? Email Kayleigh Allred, kallred@oakscg.church to get started.
Small groups: Your people are waiting for you
Life’s better in community, and it’s much better when you’re growing in your faith with others. As our church continues to grow, this fall is the perfect time to find your people and grow closer to God. Small groups meet in homes a couple of times a month to share meals, talk about Scripture, pray together, and build real friendships. Small group info can be found here.
Students: Skip Wednesday – see you Friday!
This week’s all about It’s Fall Y’all! We’re gearing up for a big night together on Friday, October 24 at Crazy Legs Farm & Pumpkins in Farmington. Expect hayrides, pumpkins, and all the fall fun! Bring your friends! Transportation included from Five Oaks. Our leaders are meeting midweek to get everything ready—(no youth group for students on Wednesday)–so make sure you’re signed up in advance here. Questions? Email Mindy Wissink, mwissink@fiveoakschurch.org.
Are you at least 5 years old? This one’s for you
Feed My Starving Children is one way to get your whole family involved in providing nutrient-rich meals to some of the world’s most impoverished areas. Join your Five Oaks family at FMSC in Eagan on November 1, at 9:30 am, to pack meals together. Kids as young as 5 years old are welcome to serve with their parents! Details are here — register today! Questions? Email Dave Baar, impact@fiveoakschurch.org.
Men’s Summit & Women’s Retreat
The path to spiritual growth isn’t always a straight line. Sometimes, a few days away can clear your mind and help you focus on God. Men, join us January 30-February 1 for the Men's Summit. (Details here.) Ladies, our retreat on February 20-22 is nearly full, but please add your name to the waiting list! Details here.
Deepen: A high school winter retreat
Life is loud, and it’s easy for students to get distracted. Deepen, January 16-18, 2026, is a weekend retreat where high schoolers can step away from the noise, dive into God’s Word, and learn rhythms that build a lasting faith. With teaching, spiritual practices, camp activities, and Five Oaks leaders guiding the way, this isn’t just a getaway—it’s a foundation for walking with Jesus. Details and registration at www.fiveoaks.church/students. Questions? Email Brooke Ramsey, bramsey@fiveoakschurch.org.
