Weekend of November 30

Christmas at Oaks Church

Christmas at Oaks Church will include two Christmas Eve services—2:30 and 4 pm—and we’re expecting many first-time visitors and out-of-town families. It’s an amazing chance to help people feel seen, welcomed, and at home the moment they arrive. We will need extra hands—especially for set-up and take-down. Our greeters will also need help, and of course we’ll have more openings in Oaks Kids. If you’re looking for a simple, meaningful way to serve this season, Christmas Eve is the perfect place to start. Email Cari Doornink, cdoornink@oakscg.church, to get started. Start thinking and praying about who in your life might want to join you. You may be surprised at how willing people are to try a new church this time of year.

Men, jump into our new Journeymen study of Judges
The book of Judges is full of raw stories of flawed leaders and a nation wrestling with God. Guys, join us as we start a new study— Saturdays at 7 am at Five Oaks, or Wednesdays at Oltman Middle School, starting December 3. In this video study, J.D. Greear shows how these ancient accounts mirror our own struggles—and how only God can bring real rescue and renewal. We’ll explore what honest faith looks like in real life. Invite a co-worker or neighbor! Questions? Email Matt Karasek, mathewade77@gmail.com.

Christmas with Oaks Kids!
Christmas is coming! Two Christmas Eve services means twice the opportunity to serve and help kids experience the greatest story ever told—Jesus’ birth! If you’ve not served in Oaks Kids and want to help out on Christmas Eve, consider jumping in early and shadowing a Kids team member now so you’re ready to serve with joy on December 24! Email Kayleigh Allred, kallred@oakscg.church, to get started.

Find your place
If you’re new around Oaks Church, we’d love to help you get connected. The two best ways to start building community are by joining a small group or finding a place to serve—it’s where real friendships form and faith grows. Just stop by the Welcome Table after the service. We can’t wait to help you get connected!

Students: For your holiday calendar
As we head into a full holiday season, here’s what’s coming up in Student Ministries. On December 17, we’ll have our annual Christmas Party.  We’ll take a 3-week Christmas break (no youth group on December 27, 31, or January 7), but don’t miss out on Tubing Night - Saturday, January 10, for all students and their friends in grades 5-12. Questions? Email Mindy Wissink, mwissink@fiveoakschurch.org.

Ladies, pause the holiday hubbub to reflect and be still
We invite you to step away from the holiday rush and join us for an evening to “behold and be still.” Enjoy a time of open mingling and refreshments with other women, then join us in re-centering our hearts on Jesus through music, scripture, and reflection. December 11, 6:30-8 pm at Five Oaks Church. Take this opportunity to invite your neighbor or co-worker to join you! More info and registration here.

Meltdown Middle School Camp: Registration is now open
Meltdown is an impactful winter weekend retreat held February 13-15, 2026 at Camp Forest Springs in Westboro, WI. Students can look forward to solid biblical teaching sandwiched in between exciting winter activities such as snow tubing, downhill and cross-country skiing. It’s also a great weekend for building friendships and deepening community. Signups are here: www.fiveoaks.church/students. Questions? Email Brooke Ramsey, bramsey@fiveoakschurch.org.
