Is baptism your next step?
If you’ve trusted Jesus, baptism is how you show it publicly, and we’d love to help you take that step. Join us for baptisms on Sunday, November 22, 10:15 am in the pool and cafeteria here at Oltman. We also have a children’s baptism class on November 1 in the cafeteria at 11:30 am. We’ll walk you through some questions and conversational ideas to help you determine whether your kids are ready for this step. Please register for the children’s baptism class here. Interested in adult baptism? Email Henry Michael.
Deepen: A high school winter retreat
Life is loud, and it’s easy for students to get distracted. Deepen, January 15-17, 2027, is a weekend retreat where high schoolers can step away from the noise, dive into God’s Word, and learn rhythms that build a lasting faith. With teaching, spiritual practices, camp activities and outdoor fun, plus our leaders guiding the way, this weekend will deepen students’ foundation for walking with Jesus. Details and registration for Deepen can be found here. Questions? Email Cody Baader.
Guys, build community and grow in faith
You don’t have to follow Jesus alone. Oaks Men’s small groups are a place to grow in God’s word, pray together, and build strong relationships with other men. Groups meet Thursday mornings at 7 am at the Hy-Vee restaurant and Monday evenings at 7:45 pm, and will alternate between the Blackwells ’ home and the Dixons’ home. Interested in finding a group that works for you? Email Jake Dixon, jdixon@oakscg.church.
Give kids a Christmas to remember
Help local families in Dayton’s Bluff by bringing a new, unwrapped toy to church any Sunday from November 22 to December 6. Want to see the impact up close? Volunteer at the Hope for the Brave Holiday Event on Friday, December 18, from 5–7 pm. Questions? Email Melissa Borner.
Belong beyond Sunday
Life is better when we don’t do it alone. Small groups are one of the best ways to build meaningful friendships, grow in God’s Word, and walk through life’s joys and challenges with others. Whether you’re new to Oaks or have been here since the beginning, small groups help make our community roots deeper. Find a small group on our website here. Questions or want help finding a group? Email Jennifer Fair.
Get all your Oaks events in one place!
Want an easy way to stay connected with what’s happening? Church Center is your one-stop shop for upcoming events, registrations, serving, small groups, and more. It’s also how you ensure your contact information is up to date and that you’re receiving emails from Oaks. Get connected through Church Center so you don’t miss what’s happening and can easily find your next step. Church Center is available wherever you get your apps. Questions? Email Jennifer Fair.
You’re invited to the Financial Townhall (and the Congregational Meeting!)
Our annual congregational meeting always provides the special opportunity to look ahead together and hear about the direction God is leading us. Since we are now a church of two campuses, both our financial and our vision conversations need more space. This year, we’re making a change to protect that moment and to give you a better way to engage with our finances. Join us for the Financial Townhall, Thursday, November 12, 6- 7 pm, at Five Oaks. You’ll hear all the details about budgets and ask any questions you have. And of course, make plans to join us for our congregational meeting on Sunday, November 15, 4 pm, also at Five Oaks. Food and fellowship will follow the congregational meeting. Questions? Email Brian Burquest.
