Weekend of October 18

Belong beyond Sunday

Life is better when we don’t do it alone. Small groups are one of the best ways to build meaningful friendships, grow in God’s Word, and walk through life’s joys and challenges with others. Whether you’re new to Oaks or have been here since the beginning, small groups help make our community roots deeper. Find a small group on our website here. Questions or want help finding a group? Email Jennifer Fair.

Get all your Oaks events in one place!
Want an easy way to stay connected with what’s happening? Church Center is your one-stop shop for upcoming events, registrations, serving, small groups, and more. It’s also how you ensure your contact information is up to date and that you’re receiving emails from Oaks. Get connected through Church Center so you don’t miss what’s happening and can easily find your next step. Church Center is available wherever you get your apps. Questions? Email Jennifer Fair.

Bring your kids and celebrate fall with us!
Join us for Pumpkins & Praise on Saturday, October 24, 10 am–12 pm at the Borner Farm in Cottage Grove. We’ll enjoy a morning together celebrating the season and learning how carving a pumpkin can help tell the Gospel story. Bring your own pumpkin to carve or paint—we’ll provide the tools! Afterward, enjoy a hayride, snacks, and crafts. Invite a friend—everyone is welcome! Click here to register.

Strong leaders = stronger students
Behind every growing student is a team of leaders who show up, build relationships, and help students grow in faith. This Wednesday, October 21, we’re setting aside our regular student programming for Leader Investment Night—a chance to encourage and equip the leaders who invest in your students week after week. Wednesday night youth group resumes October 28 at Five Oaks. Middle school meets 6–8 pm, and high school meets 7–9 pm. Questions? Email Kyler Albert, kalbert@fiveoakschurch.org.

Guys, build community and grow in faith
You don’t have to follow Jesus alone. Oaks Men’s small groups are a place to grow in God’s word, pray together, and build strong relationships with other men. Groups meet Thursday mornings at 7 am at the Hy-Vee restaurant and Monday evenings at 7:45 pm, and will alternate between the Blackwells ’ home and the Dixons’ home. Interested in finding a group that works for you? Email Jake Dixon,  jdixon@oakscg.church.

Save the date: Annual congregational meeting
Mark your calendar now to join us on Sunday, November 15, 4 pm at Five Oaks Church for our annual congregational meeting. We’ll have a short business meeting followed by a time of fellowship and food. Child care will be provided. More details to follow.
