Weekend of May 17
Ladies, come as you are — leave more connected
As a new and growing church, we are all looking for ways to connect and form deeper relationships. Here’s an easy way to make our church feel like home. Ladies, you’re invited to join us for our second Oaks Women’s Get-Together – an evening to meet new friends, build community, and grow together as a new church family. We will be getting together Thursday, May 21 from 7-9 pm. Interested? Email Jennifer Fair at mejifair@gmail.com.
Check your route to Oltman
Spring road construction is well underway, and Oltman Middle School finds itself right in the thick of it. 65th Street will be closed from Geneva Ave to Goodview Ave beginning this week. You can get more details and sign up for updates here.
World Vision Global 6K: We’d love your help
As the Global 6K for Clean Water approaches on May 16 (that’s THIS weekend!), we need your help to make this event a success for both the communities across the world in need of clean water, and for all of the families who are participating in the event. We’re expecting lots of non-Five Oakers to walk, run, and stroll that day, some of whom have no idea how amazing the people of Five Oaks are. Let’s welcome all who show up that day! We’d love your help with set-up, tear-down, snack table, to name a few. Interested in helping out? (By the way, YES! You can volunteer to help AND walk or run the 6K!) Find more info here.
Guys, can you sing?
Our worship team is blessed by so many female voices! We would like to round out our team with some male vocalists as well. We are also looking for instrumentalists! If you can play guitar, keys, drums, or violin, we would love to have you join the Oaks worship team. If you’re interested and proficient in any of these instruments (or male vocals!), email Ariel Koning, akoning@oakscg.church.
Help fill the gap this summer
As our Oaks Kids volunteers occasionally miss a Sunday for vacations or sports during summer months, we’d love to bless them by making sure they can be fully present with their families—without worrying about filling their serving spot. If you’ve never served in kids ministry, would you consider trying it just one Sunday this summer? It’s a simple way to make a real difference as we continue creating a safe, fun, and Christ-centered space for kids each week. Email Kayleigh Allred to get started.
Oak's Church park playdates are back this summer!
Join us Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11:30 am at local Cottage Grove parks! This will be a time for parents and caregivers to connect and grow in community together while our children play and do the same! We’ll be meeting at a different park each week, so please check the GroupMe for the weekly location. To be added to the GroupMe, contact Holly Williams at mrshollyw@gmail.com. All are welcome - we’d love for you to join us! Playdates start on June 10.
