Weekend of August 16
See you at the farm on Sunday! (Not Oltman!)
Brunch, baptisms, and the great outdoors—what could be better? Join us for a special morning of celebration, fellowship, and great food as we gather to celebrate what God is doing in the lives of those being baptized. Please note: This event will not be held at Oltman. Instead, we’ll meet on August 16 at The Borner Farm in Hastings. Bring a lawn chair, sign up to bring a dish, and enjoy a memorable morning with your church family. Not registered yet? Sign up here today! You can access the baptism guide here.
Students, join us for a summer Worship Night
Connecting with God through worship is a highlight of camp, and during our school year, so we’re taking this Wednesday night, August 19, to have a Worship Night at Five Oaks Church!Doors open at 6:30 pm for middle and high schoolers. Incoming sixth graders: you’re invited, too! Come ready to pray, sing, and point your hearts and lives to God! Questions? Email Kyler Albert.
Called To Lead. Equipped To Serve.
Every weekend is a chance to shape a child’s faith, and sometimes that means navigating busy classrooms and big personalities. All Oaks Kids volunteers are invited to join us on August 22 from 12-2 pm for an afternoon of lunch, encouragement, and practical training as we prepare to serve our littlest Oakers! We'll hear from a classroom behavior management expert, and review best practices as a team. Lunch and childcare are provided. Click here to register.(Interested in learning more about serving in Oaks Kids? We’d love to have you join us!)
Women’s Ministry Kickoff
Ladies, it’s time to flourish! Join us for a fun evening of connection as we kick off a new ministry year at Oaks Church. Enjoy snacks and fellowship, hear the vision for Oaks Women’s Ministry, and discover the ministry opportunities and gatherings beginning in October. Come connect, be encouraged, and find your place—we can’t wait to see you! We will meet on September 1 from 7-8:30 pm at Alisa Ellingson’s Home. Look for registration soon!
Set up a student for success
Every child deserves to begin the school year with the supplies they need to learn and thrive. This month, we’re partnering with SoWashCo CARES to provide school supplies and books for early learners in our community. Access the shopping list here. School supplies and new or gently-loved books may be dropped off in the red wagon near the info desk through Sunday, August 24. They may also be brought to the Baptism and Brunch on August 16. Questions? Email Melissa Borner, mborner@oakscg.church.
