Hearing Jesus - W2

Is what you are doing now going to make a lasting impact? Most of us try to build a legacy of our own choosing, sometimes even for Jesus, and end up exhausted, anxious, and alone. In Revelation 1:9-20, John, exiled on Patmos, sees the risen Jesus standing among the lampstands of his church. Preached on Oaks Church's first anniversary weekend, this message argues that the church, this messy group of sinners, is the legacy worth giving your life to. It produces patience, it is sustained by a Jesus whose majesty is beyond our imagination, and it is where we experience his nearness. We don't create the legacy. We are invited to join it by gathering, serving, and growing together.
