Hearing Jesus - W5

What makes people with faith and good intentions compromise? Not always failing, but letting in things we once worked hard to guard against. In Revelation 2:12-17, Jesus writes to the church in Pergamum, a church that stayed faithful through intense persecution but grew comfortable once the pressure eased. It is not enough to love and live for Jesus in the past. This message shows how a church rejects compromise by rooting itself in Jesus: by living with gospel conviction, by holding to the hope and truth of the Bible, and by persevering in repentance. The invitation is simple and hard: show up with your whole self, the mess and the stress, and keep rooting in Jesus together.
